Attraction

Futur l’Expo is a new attraction, taking place within the Image Studio pavilion (previously hosting

Excerpt from a layout composed by Freja Fyhn, based on an interpretation of Laurent Levêque’s architectural plan, incorporating models of experiential devices (socibot, living room of the future, sphero table) modelled by François Amri.

Robotic experience, sensory table, immersive room, virtual vehicle driving… Imagined as a fictional museum space, the pavilion welcomes multiple attractions, within the attraction! No less than 10 distinct experiences are presented at its launch. A flexibility that allows new productions to also evolve the visitor experience throughout the operation.

April 2015, While the pavilion was bare, the route undetermined, my mission was to imagine what it would be possible to imagine within the building.

I therefore conceptualized the axes of the tour and, in collaboration with Benjamin Jaubert, determined the technical details related to the infrastructures and the layout. In the absence of specifications, room for innovation and expression: in co-creation, I also take charge of the artistic and exclusive creation of 8 experiences (among the 10 that will see the day at the public opening).

2makesense was also created, bringing within it many new works which will be developed over the exploitation and will retain as much the Interest of both the park and the public!

With an attendance of 5,000 visitors per day, the attraction

Sensory welcome table

« Discover 10 installations that could represent tomorrow, at Futuroscope »

Prefiguring the exhibition’s experiences, this contemplative installation features a giant table and a set of 10 screens. The walls and tables are videoprojected, displaying a map of the place and a communicative mascot who will accompany the user throughout his tour.

The tone is decidedly contemplative. The visitor can, by approaching the hands, operate the identity markers of the exhibition represented on the table (equipped with infrared sensors), illuminate the moving plane, exchange information with a three-dimensional mascot who will then operate the screens to discover the route that will await him in his visit..

The table allows 10 simultaneous actions. All actions are synchronized and adapted to guide the gaze from the hand to the screens. The mascot interacts with visitors both in activity and in a passive state, greeting the passing public or looking around.

Quiz table

Evolution of the welcome table of the Futur l'Expo pavilion at Futuroscope: up to five people simultaneously can take part in a big quiz on the themes of the 10 experiments.

At the end of each question, compare your results with those of other players, but also with the number of answers since the launch of the new version of the interactive table!

Triptych discovery of the mobile app

Pre-announcement discovery, a 3D animation displayed within 3 large curved screens, of the future mobile app imagined for the place.

The content previews the functionalities of the app whose identity is also developed by 2makesense (a designed experience, in the technical finalization phase and pending finalization of the acquisition for its commissioning). Dynamic and played in real time, the pre-announcement content can turn into promotional message inviting to download the app.

Socibot

Discover robotics with a robot following our movements and reproducing our facial expressions by video-mapping.

The robot interacts physically and vocally with the user, leading him in a grimace contest. The device presents the android on a pedestal, behind it three large curved screens allow you to learn more, but also to see yourself back.

The photos taken by the robot are displayed spontaneously on the screen wall in the form of a polaroid, which the visitor will be able to find at the end of the exhibition.

Futur's living room

What if our home were equipped with a holographic butler who would remind us of our appointments, advise us, give us news, the weather and recommended clothing.

Interacting in your presence, the hologram fits into a space designed as a place of comfort: an idea of the living room of tomorrow.

Immersive bedroom

Customizable decorative atmospheres

Immersive atmospheres / animated universes

Immersive video-mapping of a master bedroom.

Mapping could enter our home tomorrow and allow us to change the decoration endlessly.

Through this totally interactive 360° installation, the user can, from a tablet, customize each element of the room (walls, bed, window, furniture, etc.) with the decorations that we have created, or even travel in spectacular composed and animated atmospheres, also entirely created for the occasion.

Robotic Balls (Sphero® circuit)

Discover the Sphero® in a circuit.

Three users can play simultaneously on open access tablets.

The visitor interface has been designed to meet the needs of the experience. No calibration is required: the user's point of view is used to define the orientation of the Sphero®, the gaze can be on the circuit and not on the game controller. For easier in-game identification, the Sphero® use the shades given to each player by the tablets.

The CRIIF has enabled complete control of the balls: this has made it possible to adapt their speeds according to their locations, but also to have them enter play and return to their charging stations automatically at the end of sessions.

Augmented Reality Virtual Arena

The video-mapping video game! Up to 3 players can compete in an arena where the virtual meets the real, and observers are also in the game.

From the start of the competition choose to pilot from the tablets available a drone, an automobile or a robotic ball with very different characteristics. Then try to set traps for opponents and collect as many bonuses as possible on the ground by avoiding collisions that could destroy your shield. Discover at the end of the session the winner and the key moments of the game.

Anyone around the interactive table can become an actor by creating circuits or by setting up obstacles: through custom-made image capture and processing technology, the table instantly recognizes objects placed on its surface.

Children's costumes in augmented reality

Children are accompanied in their choice of disguise on a tablet at their disposal. Once the disguise has been selected, all they have to do is take their place on the tracks on the ground, follow the instructions on the screen and see themselves dressed in the disguise!

Game sessions are timed to improve the gaming experience for children who may appear in large numbers in front of the screens.

Giant tangram

Revisiting a classic for a new fun experience combining the physical with the virtual.

The interactive work invites participants to reproduce tangram figures (11 figures) from volumetric pieces (shaped shapes in foam), on a large scale and in interaction monitored by real-time dynamic mapping.

The figure to be guessed is projected on the table, and colored when correctly placed. Designed to be participatory, the sessions are scripted and clues are also produced to help the visitor in solving the puzzle.

Futur's fridge

A translucent glass lets appear what our food could be composed of tomorrow, such as molecular cuisine.

At any time, pressing one of the buttons allows you to call on culinary advisers, who can suggest original recipes based on the contents of the refrigerator and assist us in the culinary preparation.

Mobile app

An experiment carried out offering a Quiz and additional fun experiences, dynamically updated throughout the visit to the premises.

In hardware solution partnership chosen jointly by the customer, Orange Beacons® have been deployed near the various experiences of the attraction.

On the app side, the power of emission of the autonomous beacons can be captured to estimate distances and script events, but proximity interference and a gradual decrease of emission's power of the solution (battery only) will make it difficult to recommend their long-term maintenance. In the absence of an alternative and a commercial agreement, this project will simply not be pursued.

Experiences management

A web-service shared on the intranet thus makes it possible to report the status of devices on the local network and order the restart without having to access the physical equipment.

To access it, the teams in place only need access from their smartphone, allowing them to be next to the public in the event of an incident and immediately see that the equipment is properly restarted.

The discovery of an incident that is more quickly identifiable is therefore no longer a source of concern, especially if a stage manager is alerted by a visitor to any malfunction. The teams in place can present themselves in complete control and close to the public.
